Tiger Woods will team up with former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning. That twosome will square off against Phil Mickelson and current Tampa Bay quarterback Tom Brady. The 18-hole charity event is called “The Match: Champions for Charity.” It will take place on Sunday, May 24 at the Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound. The first nine holes will be a best ball format. Missouri Gambler Sues In-State Slot Machine Company
Torch Electronics is a St. Louis County-based slot machine manufacturer. The company’s scrapes with the Missouri legal system continue with the latest lawsuit filed against its products. Paul Blankenship of Crawford County has retained the services of Peter Hamilton as a layer with the firm Bick & Kistner. He is seeking to start a class action suit against Torch for illegal gambling machines. Blankenship is looking to recover lost funds on the company’s games along with court costs. Torch was charged with felony illegal gambling activity in January of this year. That charge came from the Linn County Prosecutor.
Boyd Gaming Could Be an Attractive Investment for Casino Industry Recovery
Stock values for every casino gaming company in Las Vegas took a major hit over the past two months. The coronavirus outbreak has closed down every casino in Nevada starting back in mid-March. Recovery plans are currently in place for the entire gambling industry. A few analysts are looking at Boyd Gaming as an attractive long-term investment. The company’s stock (BYD) is trading around $17 a share. That reflects a 50 percent decline in value since the S&P 500 peaked on Feb. 19. Boyd operates 29 casino properties across 10 different states. Most of its Las Vegas revenue is derived from a local customer base within a 30-mile radius.
Local Las Vegas Firm Creates Self-Cleaning Slot Machine Partitions
The gaming engineers at Smith Rosen have come up with a slot machine partition that is self-cleaning. The local Las Vegas firm is using the science behind ultraviolet light combined with the use of clear acrylic barriers. The product is called SafePlay UV. It can be installed between slot machines on a casino floor. The partition is also designed to self-clean itself with the use of UV light. This process takes place every time a player gets up from a slot machine seat. This is all part of the effort to protect the health of casino workers and patrons once they reopen for business.
